JAMAICA

Our trip to Jamaica during our Cruise Tour was awesome. Jamaica is the fifth-largest island country in the Caribbean and has about 2.8 million residents. It was very interesting to discover the history of Jamaica, the life there and these beautiful white, sandy beaches.

After we got to the port with our ship, we drove along the island to do sightseeing. We saw Jamaican people with dreadlocks, smoking weed while listening to reggae music all the time. You immediately feel the people's serenity and it seems that this is the only thing that matters in life - besides music and smoking.  

Our next stop were the Dunn's River Falls that we climbed up. The Dunn's River Falls is one of Jamaica's national treasures. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to climb and it was so much fun to do! The Falls empty into the Caribbean Sea at the end of an white-sand beach. After the climb we were exhausted and enjoyed the Caribbean sun at the beach for the rest of the day.

// Unser Trip nach Jamaika während unserer Kreuzfahrt war großartig. Jamaika ist mit rund 2,8 Millionen Einwohnern die fünfgrößte Insel in der Karibik. Es war super interessant die Geschichte der Insel, das Leben dort sowie ihre weißen, sandigen Stränden zu entdecken.

Nachdem wir am Hafen angekommen sind, sind wir zunächst die Insel abgefahren und haben Sightseeing gemacht. Überall sahen wir Jamaikaner mit Dreadlocks, die Joints rauchen und währenddessen Reggae hören. Die Leichtigkeit der Menschen dort nimmt einen förmlich ein und es scheint, dass Gelassenheit und Musik zu den Lebenselixieren der Jamaikaner gehört - neben der Musik und dem Rauchen.

Unser nächster Stop waren die Dunn's Wasserfälle, die wir hochgeklettert sind. Diese Wasserfälle zählen zu den Kostbarkeiten der Insel und sind eine große Touristenattraktion. Man benötigt ca. 1-1,5 Stunden, bis man sie komplett bestiegen hat und es hat so viel Spaß gemacht! Die Wasserfälle münden im Karibischen Meer an einem weißen Sandstrand. Nach dem Klättern waren wir dann recht kaputt und haben den Rest des Tages die karibische Sonne am Strand genossen.
