LOCATION: DUBAI
There is no such place in the world like Dubai! Dubai for sure is the city of superlatives! The best example is the Burj Khalifa, the highest building in the world with 828m of height. That is also my first sightseeing recommendation for you. Be sure to book a ticket in advance to avoid standing in long queues and enjoy the spectacular view. Luckily, it is allowed to take children with you, and we were even guided to go first in our group because we had our baby with us.
Although this vacation was already my second visit in Dubai and I almost did all of the sightseeings on my first visit, I had to go to Dubai's Miracle Garden again. You can see my review from the first visit here. When you go there, try to avoid the heavy hours and come either very early or very late right before closing.
If you are looking for stylish boutiques, various dining possibilities and a buzzy boulevard, head to The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR). It is crazy how much this area has changed regarding my last visit 4 years ago. We didn't even recognize this boulevard as it developed so much. There are many restaurants, exhibitions, artists and shops. Be sure to try the delicious cronuts!
Besides all those great American fast food chains like Five Guys, Shake Shack and the Cheesecake Factory, there is also the possibility to eat healthy and organic in Dubai. One of my favorite organic restaurants is Comptoir 102. They serve the best bowls and Coconut water. Having lunch with the best view is definitely at Shimmers. Located directly at Jumeirah Beach, you can have lunch by the beach with the Burj Al Arab in the background.
One of the newer places in Dubai is La Mer. Located between Pearl Jumeira and Jumeirah Bay La Mer offers laid-back fun at Dubai's electric beach front. When you arrive there you have the feeling of being in California with it's little beach houses, palms, restaurants and beach activities. I easily fell in love with this place.
